Batik is one of the most famous Malaysian textile crafts. This art form is my passion, and I can't wait for you to discover the beauty of Malaysian Batik and make your own masterpiece in this workshop. Upon your arrival at our Gallery, we will introduce you to the batik making process with a fun demonstration. Our team can give you inspiration and provide guidance as you sketch your own design or you can choose from one of our pre-prepared templates. We start this exciting process by using a traditional tool called Chanting to apply hot wax on your sketch. This is a unique method used for more than 100 years to decorate motif on fabric. Now it's time for the exciting part! You can paint your fabric with any of the beautiful fabric dyes we have in our studio. You can even mix custom colors. Paint your textile with bursts of color and voila you have completed your own batik masterpiece. This an easy process and is fun for the whole the family! Our team will quickly dry your fabric so that you can take it home with you. Another option is to use the batik as a handkerchief, in that case, you need to wait for 4 hours or come back the next day to collect your final piece of artwork.
